Re: Resignation of Employment
This memorandum is to inform you that I have accepted a position with (XYZ Company) and will be resigning
my position effective August 2, 2007.
It has been my privilege to work for (insert company name) and I do not reach this decision lightly.
During my six years here, I have seen the company grow steadily, add new employees, introduce new product
lines, and meet every challenge head on. I have gained invaluable experience on the job and am grateful
for the many opportunities (company name) has provided me.
These sentiments notwithstanding, I believe it is time to take on new responsibilities and embrace new
challenges in my career. I will continue to perform all my duties during these remaining weeks and assist
in any way possible to prepare a replacement. I believe we have several excellent candidates in our
department who can do the job with minimal training. Please let me know if there are any specific tasks
or projects you would like me to complete before my departure, and I will give them my very best efforts.
Please know that I have nothing but fond feelings for (company name) and hope you will feel free to call
on me after I leave should the need arise.
